01 Our commitment
We want this site to work for everyone who wants to read it, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or browsing with animation turned off.
We build toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We think the site largely meets that standard today, with the known exceptions listed below.
02 What we've built in
- Keyboard navigation throughout. Every interactive element — navigation, the capability panels, the framework stages, the use case explorer, the readiness assessment, the the MGN Assistant — is reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- A skip link to jump past navigation straight to the content.
- Semantic structure. Real headings in order, landmark regions, lists marked up as lists, buttons that are buttons.
- Reduced motion respected. If your system asks for reduced motion, the opening sequence doesn't run, the animated background is switched off, and transitions are removed.
- The opening sequence is skippable and can be dismissed with Escape or Enter.
- Colour contrast meeting AA for body text and interface labels against the dark ground.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Live regions so screen readers announce results in the assessment, the explorer and the assistant as they change.
- Responsive down to small screens without horizontal scrolling, and text that reflows when zoomed.
- No colour-only meaning — anything indicated by colour is also indicated by text or shape.
03 Known limitations
Stated plainly rather than buried:
- No formal third-party audit has been carried out. This statement is based on our own testing, not an independent certification.
- The opening identity sequence briefly covers the page on a first visit. It is skippable, dismissible by keyboard, lasts about two seconds, and does not run at all when reduced motion is requested.
- The framework's orbital diagram is a visual arrangement on larger screens. It is keyboard operable, and an equivalent stepped list is used on narrow screens — but the diagram itself conveys sequence visually.
- The the MGN Assistant opens on its own after scrolling or a delay. It can be closed with Escape, and once dismissed it does not reopen.
These are on our list. Where a fix would change the character of the work, we look for an equivalent experience rather than removing the thing.
04 How this was assessed
By manual testing: keyboard-only navigation of every interactive element, screen reader checks, contrast measurement against the palette, testing with reduced motion enabled, and layout testing from small phone widths to large desktop displays.
